Summer Camp offers full-day programming during the out-of-school summer months for children entering 1st through 8th grade. Camp is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The program is located a different elementary school site each year at which we use the entire facility.
The program was built on the Johns Hopkins Model to prevent learning loss during the summer. Kids explore learning in a fun environment involving hands-on activities in science, art, cultures, environmental education, field trips, theme days, and more. They receive two nutritional snacks and hot lunch each day. Some of the enrichment activities that the children have enjoyed include drama workshop, rock climbing, scuba, karate, building a drum, and archery. Each week features a park walk, swimming, and an off-site field trip! New in 2016, we will have STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art and Math) Fridays!
Staff are well trained and are qualified to serve all children within our program. Annual training requirements and a 1:10 staff-to-student ratio help to ensure that we maintain a high quality of care for all of the children in our programs.
Scholarships, sliding fee scale and additional support is available for families in need. Please contact our office for details, 970-266-1734.
